Butthole Surfers, Pepper and a Memory

This is one of those songs that takes me back to a specific time in life. It takes me back to the nineties and Deep Ellum in Dallas. It was my favorite place to hit the clubs and restaurants. My favorite club was Trees and my favorite restaurant was The Green Room. The Green Room didn't have a sign out front, just a green light, I liked that, it felt like a secret club. Pepper reminds me of a particular night and a killer party at a million dollar plus home hidden away in the very industrial Deep Ellum. The house looked like an auto garage from the outside, but behind the doors it was lavishly decorated...very opulent. There were bowls of cocaine, a full bar and a tub full of big fat joints. I won't drop names, not that I don't want to, but it is one of those, 'What happens in Dallas, stays in Dallas" things, but it was a hellaciously good wrap party and I heard Pepper from "Electriclarryland" (first listen) blaring as I entered the door. It is a good memory...well, what I can remember of it anyways.

(I do so hate the cover art for Electriclarryland, it hurts my ear)
